Finding calm amidst the chaos
ABOUT ME
Hi there, I am Leah and I have been on this moving, breathing, holding, releasing, stilling, being journey for sometime now.

I believe that our greatest teacher is within and that our body - in it's fullest sense- knows best what is needed if we could only learn to listen.
My initial yoga experience was via the Iyengar tradition when I was a teenager which was exactly what I needed at that point in my life. Since then I have explored other approaches including Scaravelli and Viniyoga.

I trained with the 'Inner Yoga Trust' in 2001 and then in the Krishnamacharia tradition. I am also a certified 'Yoga for the Special Child' practitioner and completed the 'Yoga for Cancer' (BWY) programme.
I also co-teach training courses for Yoga Campus on 'Teaching yoga for stress, Burnout and Fatigue Conditions' (see more in 'My Story')

My teaching style is constantly evolving as it responds to what is needed in me and what I see, hear and sense from those I work with. When working individually or with a group I prioritise creating a conducive learning environment with the aim of facilitating access to our inner wisdom. I offer practices which promote the gentle release of tension and outmoded, unhelpful physical and psychological patterns which hinder us in our daily lives.

Over recent years I have become interested in different movement practices including somatics and Feldenkrais which have helped fine tune my awareness and allowed me to drop even deeper into my own somatic experience. I weave these influences as well as those of other teachers I have studied with – Donna Farhi, Tias Little, Mathew Sanford and Angela Farmer – into my teaching with the emphasis on opening up to our innate awareness and cultivating kindness as we explore our inner experience.

I work with groups and individuals and am especially interested in supporting people through challenging times which invariably includes the journey of healing past trauma.

My bodywork very much parallels my approach to teaching. I see my role as facilitating the body's innate capacity (& deep desire) to heal from the inside.

Sessions are tailored to the needs of the individual both spoken and communicated via the person's system, offering single or combined treatments as appropriate.
